Our Team

Between 2006 and 2014 he directed the Center for the Study of Copper and Mining (CESCO). Before that, he performed as Director of Studies of the Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco). Mr. Guajardo also worked as an economist for the International Copper Studies Group.
He is also a member of the Copper Price Expert Committee convened annually by the Ministry of Finance to determine the parameters with which the Chilean national budget is built; the PDAC International Affairs Committee; as well as responsible for the organization of the Asia Copper Week, the largest global copper event in Asia and one of the largest in the world since 2012.
Mr. Guajardo holds a PhD in International Economics and Development from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. He excelled as the best graduate in his undergraduate studies of Business and Economics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile. He also has a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Diploma of the Advanced International Program of Mining and Environment from the University of Luleä, Sweden.
Juan Carlos Guajardo maintains a permanent presence in national and international media on mining issues.

Matías joined the team of Plusmining in 2017.
He has more than 4 years of experience in the mining industry, participating and leading projects for large-scale mining, both nationally and internationally. In his experience as an analyst and consultant, he has participated in more than 15 projects in the areas of economic studies, econometric modeling, simulation, risk analysis and management, and strategic evaluation.
Matias holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineer with Diploma in Mining Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is currently a candidate for a Master's Degree in Mining Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

He joined the Plusmining team in 2018, after having completed his professional practice at the Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco).
He has extensive knowledge in financial matters, costs and projects in the world of mining, as a result of having dedicated his university life to the development of assistantships in various subjects, in addition to having presented his first publication at the XX Mining Engineering Symposium.
Eric holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Universidad de Santiago de Chile.

He joined the Plusmining team in 2020.
Tomás holds a B.A. in Political Scientist from Pontificia Universidad Católica, Chile. He also holds a Master’s Degree in International Politics from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (SciencesPo), France.

She joined the team of Plusmining in 2020, having completed her postgraduate studies abroad.
In February 2020, she received her Master's degree in International Business and Administration from KU Leuven University in Belgium.
Carola holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Universidad de Chile and has experience in the area of corporate innovation with a focus on the mining industry and the generation of innovation portfolios.
